Mats Eriksson, business area manager for Mining at Sandvik, confirmed he will retire in 2027 and transition to a role as senior advisor for the supplier in the interim.
This year, he will leave his position as president of the business area and as a member of group management when a successor takes office, tentatively on 1 July.
Once that occurs, he will become senior advisor and managing director of Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy until his retirement date. While in that seat he will report to Sandvik President and CEO Stefan Widing.
Eriksson first joined Sandvik in 2016 as president of the load and haul division. In 2022, he was appointed to his current role.
A recruitment process has begun to find his successor as business area manager.
