GSilver selects Davila as new president

Mexico-focused precious metals miner Guanajuato Silver (GSilver) has appointed Ramon Davila as its new president.

Davila, an advisory board member for the company since February 2021, was also a member of the company’s board of directors.

Prior to his involvement with GSilver, Davila was COO and a board member for First Majestic Silver from 2004 to 2014, and Minister of Economic Development for the State of Durango, Mexico, from 2016 to 2020.

He also worked in various roles with Pan American Silver and Industrias Penoles, S.A. de C.V.

Davila will be working very closely with GSilver’s COO Hernan Dorado, who said Davila was a great choice for the position.

“GSilver’s business is the successful revitalization and restart of Mexican silver mines, and Ramon is ideally suited to help us execute our plan and to use the currently producing El Cubo mine and mill as a platform for expansion within the Guanajuato Mining District,” he said.

GSilver is reactivating past producing silver and gold mines near Guanajuato, Mexico, and is currently producing silver and gold from its El Cubo and El Pinguico projects.
