In April, FLSmidth joined the Copper Mark as a partner, citing its abilities as an enabler of sustainable mining. The move underscores its sustainable development and progress on its MissionZero ambition, according to the company’s group CEO Thomas Schulz.
Specifically, FLSmidth wants to aid its customers in a move toward zero energy, zero water waste and zero emissions by 2030.
“As a member of the copper supply chain, we acknowledge our role in supporting responsible production,” said Schulz. “We encourage the mission and vision of the Copper Mark organization, and we are committed to expressing preference for copper producers assured by its framework.”
The Copper Mark is a credible assurance framework to demonstrate the copper industry’s responsible production practices and industry contribution to the United Nations SDGs.
