Maritana Minerals has appointed Elizabeth (Liz) Jones to the newly created role of chief operating officer as the company transitions into a standalone gold producer, effective August 26. She was most recently general manager of Ramelius Resources’ Mt Magnet gold operations in Western Australia.
“We are delighted to welcome Liz to the Maritana executive team. As a values-driven leader, she brings extensive operational expertise and a proven track record in delivering safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations,” Maritana Minerals Managing Director and CEO Grant Haywood said.
“This relevant leadership experience will be invaluable as we advance the company’s development and production plans around the Black Swan Processing Hub in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.”
Jones comes to Maritana with over 30 years’ experience in underground and open-pit operations, project delivery, technical services, optimization and safety leadership across the Western Australian gold industry. She holds a bachelor’s in mining engineering from the Western Australian School of Mines.
