Clinch Resources has sold its first 11,000-ton train of commercial-grade met coal from the Lanes Branch mine in southern West Virginia. Additionally, the first seaborne vessel carrying 65,000 tons of met coal is expected to depart in early September.
“Reaching our first train sold and first vessel to ship from our high-quality Lanes Branch surface mine in Wyoming County, W.Va., continues to validate our operational strategy and the quality of our assets,” said Robert Gaylor, Clinch EVP.
“The recently purchased Cat HW 300 Highwall Miner has been mobilized to Lanes Branch, and we anticipate this unit entering production at the beginning of August. This will increase Lanes Branch production to more than 40,000 clean tons per month, with a goal of 80,000-plus clean tons per month by year’s end.”
Lanes Branch is located within Clinch’s 54,000-acre ARI project footprint.
