The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has surpassed a new record in its membership tally, surpassing 1,000 members, for the first time in its 125-year history.
The group said it has seen 109 member companies join in 2024, and 22 in September alone.
Its previous membership record that was set almost one year ago; it also has achieved an above-average member retention rate of 92%.
“For the second straight year, we’re proud to achieve a record-breaking level of membership as we continue to build on our past successes, serve our member companies, and speak with one voice on behalf of equipment manufacturing,” said AEM Vice President of Sales and Membership Paul Flemming.
“Thank you to all our members – whether they’re new to AEM or longtime supporters – and our talented staff at the association for making 2024 our most successful year yet.”
This past July, the association embarked on an unprecedented initiative to tell the story of the U.S. equipment manufacturing industry and celebrate the 2.3 million men and women who help build, power, and feed the world. The AEM Manufacturing Express visited more than 20 states and made stops made at 80-plus equipment manufacturers in communities across the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic. After more than three-plus months on the road, the tour concludes this Thursday at AEM member company Husco in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
AEM said its member benefits and services support for many areas are important to members – bipartisan industry advocacy, safety, environmental and global compliance programs, business/market intelligence, workforce, along with sales and marketing initiatives.
Over the course of the last several years, AEM has worked diligently to add or enhance several of its member services and benefits, including: quarterly Business Intelligence Equipment Market Update webinars; Market Share Statistics program initiatives; member education webinars; up-to-date information on new regulations and product safety standards; workforce solutions; Demo Days; workforce, sustainability, and safety toolkits; and advocacy initiatives.
All AEM members work together through the association to advance the equipment manufacturing industry and position it for a bright future. AEM strives to provide quality service, growth, and opportunities for its members and the industry as a whole, to thrive in today’s ever-changing business environment, added Flemming.
“And as we prepare for 2025, AEM and its staff is ready to once again help its members support their organizational goals, take advantage of all that an association membership has to offer, and continue to advocate for pro-manufacturing policies that benefit our industry,” he said.
