High-temp greasing with Renewable Lubricants

Ohio, U.S.-based Renewable Lubricants has introduced Bio-High Temp 180 EP Grease, a multipurpose lithium complex grease that withstands high temperatures and is ultimately biodegradable.

The formulation is characterized by super high viscosity index base oil and lithium complex thickener, which provides a very high load carrying capacity, excellent resistance to water and corrosion, and superior performance in a wide range of temperatures. With no heavy metals or other harmful or environmentally undesirable additives such as chlorine, barium or lead, Bio-High Temp 180 is a sustainable alternative. It meets or exceeds the performance requirements of ASTM D-4950 (BLGI GC/LB) and has superior high temperature properties and good cold temperature mobility.

Bio-High Temp 180 EP Grease is ideal for use in conveyor rollers, bearings, electric motors, pumps and in industrial wheel bearings where disc brakes generate high temperatures.

It meets EPA 21013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) guidelines for Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs) and should be used in hydraulic systems where low toxicity, biodegradability, and non-bioaccumulation properties are required. They exceed the acute toxicity requirements (LC-50/EC-50>1000 ppm) criteria adopted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Environmentally responsible Bio-Rock Drill Oils are formulated from renewable agricultural plant resources.

With patented antioxidants, these biosynthetics provide improved performance in oxidation stability over standard plant/vegetable/HETG and unsaturated HEES type fluids. They are highly inhibited against moisture and rusting in both fresh and sea water, and pass A and B sequences of the ASTM D-665 Turbine Oil Rust Test. Formulated to provide a longer seal life with reduced oil leakage, this environmentally friendly, zinc-free product meets or exceeds high-pressure pump requirements.
