Sandvik, Redpath to tackle safety, costs in new pact

Sandvik and Redpath have inked a new global framework that they say will improve safety and reduce underground mining costs through technology advancements, innovation, continuous improvement projects and standardized best practices.

The five-year agreement will standardize the use of equipment, leading to cost reductions and safety enhancements, and will be guided by operational and relationship key performance indicators (KPIs).

Redpath CEO George Flumerfelt noted the mutually beneficial cooperation announced November 23 will help ensure Sandvik provides the same service experience and quality, independently of the geographic location and size of Redpath operations. It also provides local presence and support by Sandvik along with annual technology summits and factory training sessions.
