Wright-Mix Material acquires Pyro-Chem

Wright Concrete’s blending and bagging group Wright-Mix Material has executed an acquisition of Ohio-based underground mining fire-retardant ventilation sealant company Pyro-Chem.

No financial details were released, but the company said the transaction of the company and its line of MSHA-approved products was completed on August 18.

Wright-Mix current serves a number of industries in America with production, blending and bagging of reinforced concrete, masonry products, grout, shotcrete/gunnite and rock dust among other items. Adding Pyro-Chem to that range boosts it with a new premium product, officials said.

“Pyro-Chem has been a significant materials producer in the U.S. mining industry for decades, and we felt that their bucketed product line fit well with the premium line of mix material products we are already producing,” President and CEO Shannon Wright said.

“The acquisition is a great way for Wright-Mix Material to move into the bucketed product market.”

COO Kendall Wright added that its operation in Logan and current expansion in Pikeville, Py., will prepare it to take on the new company’s products and push them forward both in mining and commercial use.

“We are excited to see what the future holds with this acquisition,” Wright noted.
