Bluefield Coal Symposium coming in August

The Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias based in Bluefield and Princeton, West Virginia, announced the 2024 Bluefield Coal Symposium will take place at the Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton from August 12-14.

The Bluefield Coal Symposium has the theme Using U.S. Coal for a Better America and includes a distinguished list of speakers, comprising leaders in the industry from all parts of the country. All are set to present their experiences in achieving greater safety and increased productivity in both underground and surface mining.

Over a day and a half, there will be three technical sessions, two dinners and one luncheon. The Symposium includes top-class entertainment with special live performances during the two evenings.

The symposium will be chaired by CoalZoom president and managing editor Bill Reid.

Jeff Disibbio, chamber President and CEO, said: “Our aim is to have the coal industry’s prominent decision makers “dig” into the major issues facing coal today, as well as to explore its challenges and opportunities, giving us a peek into the future of the industry.”
