Komatsu adding Elko to warehouse locations line-up

Komatsu said it will be able to support its customers more efficiently with the opening of a new warehouse in Elko, Nev.

The 50,000-square-foot space at its service center campus in Elko will offer an expansion to its local parts support for mining and construction customers in the Nevada region.

The new building will include high-capacity racking as well as high-density vertical lift modules, a climate-controlled environment and a parts counter for will-call and easy pickup of genuine Komatsu parts.

The facility will be adjacent to the OEM’s current 189,000-sq.-ft. service location, built in 2019, and will also allow easy access to Interstate 80 just west of Elko. It is expected to be completed next year, and will replace an existing on-site warehouse.

“The new, state-of-the-art warehouse will allow us to more efficiently serve our customers and partners in the region and improve the overall experience with Komatsu,” said Josh Wagner, VP and GM North America Mining Distribution for Komatsu. “This additional investment in our Elko-area facilities will not only enhance our commitment to customers, but also provide employees an improved work environment and opportunities for future employees.”

The Elko facility currently employs approximately 160 employees with anticipated growth to 180 employees over the next two years.
