Scorpio picks Zerga as CEO, president

Scorpio Gold has selected Chris Zerga as its president and chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Zerga, who has more than 35 years of operations and management experience in Nevada with Freeport McMoRan, Anglo Gold, Minorco, Newmont and Queenstake, has been with the company since its 2009 founding, serving as general manager at the Mineral Ridge and Goldwedge projects. 

He also previously served as president of Scorpio Gold from August 2016 to July 2020 and was appointed as a director in September 2020. 

Scorpio Gold holds a 100% interest in the consolidated Manhattan District in Nevada, which is made up of the advanced exploration-stage Goldwedge property with a fully permitted underground mine and a 400-ton-per-day mill facility, as well as a 100% interest in the Manhattan property adjacent to the Goldwedge property.

The company also has entire interest in the Mineral Ridge gold project located in Esmeralda County, Nevada.
