Freeport-McMoRan has confirmed the addition of Maree Robertson as senior vice president and chief financial officer, an appointment effective March 1, 2022.
Robertson, who will report to CFO Kathleen Quirk – who moved to an expanded role as president in February of this year, will be responsible for Freeport’s accounting, finance and tax functions, including financial reporting, operational accounting, internal controls, financial planning and analysis, treasury and risk management.
Robertson was previously CFO of Energy and Minerals of Rio Tinto Group, and prior to that worked for BHP for 17 years in a broad range of international finance functions.
Robertson joined BHP in 2002 after four years in the PricewaterhouseCoopers natural resource audit practice. Robertson holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Chartered Accountant.
