Austmine announced the appointment of Tony Davis as chief executive officer, effective April 1. Following his appointment, Vanessa Haberland will transition from Interim CEO to chief operating officer, continuing to support organizational delivery and member outcomes.
Davis joins Austmine with more than 30 years of senior executive experience across government and mining-related industrial, energy and advanced manufacturing sectors, with a strong focus on supporting Australian capability in global markets. Most recently, he served as executive general manager – The Americas at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).
“Tony brings a powerful combination of international trade leadership, deep industrial sector experience and proven organizational transformation capability,” Austmine Chair Dr. Dallas Wilkinson said.
“At a time when Australia’s METS sector is central to global supply chains, critical minerals development and the energy transition, Tony’s experience across international markets and government engagement will further strengthen Austmine’s advocacy, global positioning and value to members.”
Ahead of his start date, Davis will begin working closely with Austmine’s board of directors and leadership team as part of his transition into the chief executive role.
