Motion purchases Stoney Creek Hydraulics

Alabama-based Motion Industries has announced it has increased its footprint in Canada with its agreement to purchase hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder manufacturer and repair group Stoney Creek Hydraulics.

The deal was expected to close by October 31, the company confirmed.

“We are excited to begin a new chapter as part of the Motion team,” SCH owner Patric Gauthier said. “It is a great fit – both companies are customer-focused and share the same high values and service standards.”

Motion President James Howe added: “As we continue to execute our acquisition strategy to grow our services, we are pleased to welcome Stoney Creek Hydraulics employees. Their skills and capabilities will bolster our hydraulic offering in Canada and complement our mechanical repair services in the region.”

No financial details were disclosed.

Motion, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company (GPC), is the distributor of more than 19 million parts and supplies such as bearings, hose, belting, gaskets, process pumps, seals, material handling products and more.
