At the risk of sounding cliché, this year seems to have flown by. If you are one of the many readers of NAM taking in this column in Las Vegas for MINExpo International 2024, this serves as your reminder that the final quarter of the calendar year starts the week following the show. Time for projects to tie up loose ends and set some goals in preparation for 2025. Yes, already.
Before doing all of that, come and see the North American Mining magazine team at Booth 13010 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. We will have a full staff from all of SEMCO Publishing’s sister publications on hand as well, including Rock Products and The ASIA Miner. If you’re at the show and haven’t already scheduling a meeting, reach out now to [email protected] and let us know.
With all that’s going on with the Vegas show, it is easy to forget what’s to come once the convention center doors close again for another four years. While a few conferences and shows are still on the NAM itinerary for the final quarter, including the SME/PCMIA annual joint meeting in Pittsburgh, Pa., in October and AEMA in Reno, Nev., this December, our attention is getting ultra-focused on the West Virginia Coal Show 2025, set for April 15-16 in Charleston, W.Va.
In 2024, its inaugural year, we had a sold-out exhibitor space and attendance numbers exceeded all expectations. Spots are already disappearing fast for next April’s show, and in response to demand we have added the center’s Coliseum space to our floor map to accommodate even some of the largest equipment needs.
Once again, we’ll hold the WVCS alongside the West Virginia Coal Association symposium, so everyone can take in the latest technology along with presentations on the state of the West Virginian and Appalachian coal industry. A new addition for 2025 (you heard it herefirst) will be a welcome mixer on Monday evening, April 14, in the mainlobby and exhibit hall. Hotel blocks open soon – we hope you begin making plans now to join us. Keep watching www.wvcoalshow.com for free pre-registration to open.
As you are making plans, watch for the first release look at our 2025 North American Mining magazine media kit coming your way in the next few weeks. We are planning for the January/February edition already, so don’t miss out on what promises to be a great year of editorial for this ever-changing community. Drop a line anytime so we can plan your editorial appearances for an exciting 2025!
Thank you, as always, for being the best part of NAM. Work safe.
