Matrix Design Group breaks ground for new HQ

Matrix Design Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new headquarters in Newburgh, Indiana, on April 18.

The event, led by key stakeholders in Matrix as well as its parent company Alliance Resource Partners, was also attended by local community leaders. When complete, the headquarters office will include a new product testing lab, expanded office space for growth and an employee training center that will also allow for increased education for customers and distributors.

Support and development functions for Matrix’s product lines will also be part of the new campus.

Construction has been slated for completion by January 2025. Ultimately, the company said it wants to hire an additional 150 employees in the coming five years to help back its growth plans.

“Our new facilities will foster new opportunities,” said president Mark Watson, who noted the expanded presence will help its global growth as well.

“Since 2006, Matrix has distinguished itself as a leader in safety and productivity technological solutions. With this groundbreaking, we are building upon our company’s past success while growing to meet the needs of the customers and industries who benefit from our technologies.”

Alliance chairman, president and CEO Joseph Craft III added: “We’re proud of the success of Matrix and their contributions to the safety and productivity of mining companies worldwide.  As we look to the future, this investment in Matrix strengthens the company’s ability to attract and retain the highest-caliber tech and engineering minds in the region, while providing the organizational resources necessary for rapid growth and solving tomorrow’s challenges that businesses will face.”
