The U.S. Energy Information Administration has released its Annual Coal Report 2020, which provides a closer look at the country’s coal industry. Coal production last year dropped 24.2%, according to the report, to 535.4 million short tons.

MSHA reports powered haulage fatality
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) reported that on Sept. 21, a 68-year-old contract truck driver with 20 years of experience was fatally injured at Bonito Pit in Valencia County, N.M., while operating a haul truck.
