CMA, DRMS bestow awards to top Colorado mines

The Colorado Mining Association and Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety handed out their annual reclamation and safety awards in early April.

Outstanding safety performance recognition went to the Twentymile, Trapper and Colowyo mine crews during the CMA’s conference event. Earning the award for Excellence in Reclamation was the Trapper operation.

The groups said Twentymile, located in Craig, was completely incident-free since Dec. 5, 2019, with zero incidents in all of calendar 2020. Colowyo recorded five lost-time accidents and one reportable incident over a total of more than 456,000 man hours worked.
