This was the 28th fatality reported in 2024, and the 12th classified as \u201cPowered Haulage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agency recommended the following best practices to avoid this type of accident:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Communicate your intended movements to mobile equipment operators and ensure they acknowledge your presence before you travel near mobile equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use reflective clothing and\/or strobe light devices to increase your visibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be aware of your location in relation to movement of equipment and stay clear of their normal paths of travel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) said an electrician died on November 27, 2024, at the Cargill Deicing Technology \u2013 Cleveland mine in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, when a Load Haul Dump loader struck him.
