Precious metals miner Sierra Madre Gold and Silver commenced full commercial production at its Guitarra mine complex in Mexico\u2019s Silver Belt on January 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The processing plant, underground mine, and all aspects of the operation have now been running at the current capacity of 500 wet metric tonnes per day for the past 90 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am very proud of the staff and workers at La Guitarra. The maintenance and plant personnel repaired and rebuilt the existing equipment on budget and ahead of schedule making an early restart possible,\u201d said COO Gregory K. Liller. \u201cEven more important, they have kept everything running.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe mining and technical services departments worked hard to make the test mining phase a success,\u201d he continued. \u201cAbove all, everyone has worked together to develop safe and efficient operating procedures and a cost-conscious outlook. I believe that establishing this working culture from the beginning bodes well for future operations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 1,292.5 dry metric tonnes of concentrate were shipped in 2024 with an additional 94.6 tonnes in inventory as of Dec. 31, 2024. Provisional weighted average silver grade of the fiscal 2024 concentrate shipments was 2,594.2 grams per tonne, gold averaged 34.93 g\/t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guitarra is in the Temascaltepec mining district, 130 kilometers southwest of Mexico City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
