Ero Copper has announced that, effective January 1, 2025, its co-founder and board chairman Noel Dunn will retire and be succeeded by David Strang as executive chairman and Makko DeFilippo as president and CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gelson Batista will succeed DeFilippo in the latter\u2019s current seat as COO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This leadership transition is part of the succession plan initiated by Ero’s board of directors in January 2023 with Dunn’s retirement as executive chairman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dunn called his service a \u201ctremendous privilege\u201d over Ero\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs I retire from the board, I remain immensely proud of what we have accomplished and am excited about the company\u2019s bright future under Makko\u2019s leadership. I have seen firsthand Makko\u2019s dedication, expertise, and deep commitment to our values, and I am confident that Ero Copper is in exceptionally capable hands.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Strang added: \u201cHaving guided Ero from its early days as a 20,000-tonne-a-year copper producer to what I anticipate will become a 100,000-tonne producer, and with a stable financial footing across three operations, the time is right for me to transition day-to-day leadership to Makko, who has been integral to our success. As executive chairman, I will remain actively involved in Ero\u2019s strategic direction, and I am confident that with Makko\u2019s strong leadership and vision, Ero will continue to prosper and grow. We have built a solid foundation, and I look forward to seeing the Company flourishing under his stewardship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DeFilippo said he is deeply committed to the company\u2019s values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEro has endless potential and I am confident that with the support of our exceptional project and operational teams, we will deliver on the full potential of our assets to create exceptional value for all stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canadian-based Ero is focused on operations in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
