North American Mining<\/em> magazine was on hand February 28 in Tucson, Ariz., for the release of the Komatsu WX11 LHD to the global mining market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The OEM, which held an invite-only media day during SME MINEXCHANGE in Phoenix, said the 11-tonne machine offers best-in-class breakout force and payload to maximize productivity and lower users\u2019 total cost of ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The WX11 features include horsepower of 280 @ 2,000 rpm (209 kW @ 2,000 rpm); an operating weight of 77,750 pounds (35,250 kg); available engine certifications for Canmet, MSHA, EPA Tier 3\/EU Stage IIIA and EPA Tier 4F\/EU Stage V; adjustable ride control; and onboard telemetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe WX11 showcases Komatsu\u2019s commitment to providing underground hard rock miners with an exceptional load, haul and dump solution, integrating next-generation data management capabilities, operator ergonomics, intuitive controls and compliance with EU Stage V emission requirements,\u201d Komatsu said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs a new model within the Komatsu hard rock family of products, the WX11 is designed to be a class-leading LHD for all underground mine operators and contractors.
