Material handling and processing equipment maker Masaba<\/a> is working toward an early 2025 completion date for its new 145,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, being erected adjacent to its current space in Vermillion, S.D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masaba recently held the groundbreaking for the new building, which will nearly match its current 211,000-sq.-ft. home. It adds 125,000 sq. ft. of fabrication space as well as 20,000 sq. ft. of office space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founder and CEO Jerad Higman called the addition an investment in its team, the industries it serves, its local economy, and America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis expansion will allow Masaba to centralize all processing equipment in one building and utilize automation to process all our plate and structural steel. Our investment in the new facility will streamline our operations, expand manufacturing space, and give us the ability to become more vertically integrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will be able to repurpose our current steel fabrication area into additional weld and assembly bays, which will allow us to meet the increased customer demand we have seen since 2020. The expansion positions us well for future growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masaba, which manufactures for mining, aggregates, recycling, agricultural, marine, and related industries, has mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical divisions under its umbrella. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
