Vancouver-based PureGold Mining has achieved commercial production at its PureGold operation in Red Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The milestone was met August 1, the producer said, following a successful commissioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mine, mill and other critical systems are online, and PureGold has outlined reaching the sustained design capacity of 800 tonnes of ore per day \u201crapidly\u201d at the Ontario site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCommercial production is a significant milestone and marks the beginning of a very exciting growth phase for the company,\u201d Darin Labrenz, president & CEO of PureGold, said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy combining stable gold production with the high-grade exploration potential that makes the PureGold mine so unique, we are making significant progress toward our goal of unlocking the full potential of the PureGold mine and becoming Canada\u2019s next iconic gold producer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement comes after the company confirmed in July in its second quarter operations update that it had met an average daily throughput of 509 tpd \u2013 and 577 tpd for the entire month of June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PureGold mine has a 2.1-million-ounce indicated resource (7.2 Mt at 8.9 g\/t gold) and a 0.5-million-ounce inferred resource (1.9 Mt at 7.7g\/t gold).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
