Yukon Territory, Canada miner Victoria Gold said the heap leach at its Eagle gold mine near Mayo, north of Whitehorse, has had a failure, causing operations at the site to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While details are scarce about the June 24 incident, the company said none of its employees were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt this early stage, it can be confirmed that there has been some damage to infrastructure and a portion of the failure has left containment,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is currently working alongside officials to assess the scene and gather information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Goild wholly owns the mine, part of the Dublin Gulch gold property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
