That\u2019s a wrap! The first-ever West Virginia Coal Show has closed and has been deemed a success by organizers, exhibitors and guests alike, and a buzz is already growing for the 2025 event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendance numbers and the number of exhibits at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center far exceeded expectations, despite a first day soaked with rain. The second day of the show brought sunshine and an excited crowd to what has been confirmed will now be an annual event in the heart of coal country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWVCS 2024 will be remembered for setting a new standard for great coal shows,\u201d said SEMCO Publishing publisher and president Peter Johnson. \u201cWe have heard nothing but wonderful feedback from many of the show\u2019s vendors as well as many of the high-level attendees of our inaugural event. We are ready to hit the ground running for April 2025, as many of our exhibitors will be moving into the Coliseum, which can accommodate heavy equipment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Johnson thanked everyone involved with WVCS 2024, particularly the staff of the West Virginia Coal Association, which held its 50th<\/sup> West Virginia Coal Association Symposium in conjunction with the show. It, too, saw record numbers for its technical sessions and awards ceremonies.<\/p>\n\n\n
