Quebec-based Abcourt Mines said the mill at its Sleeping Giant underground gold operation in the Abitibi region of the province restarted processing on February 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its Feb. 20 confirmation of the restart, it confirmed it saw 20 tonnes per hour in the first week. On Feb. 19, it marked 32 tph with the addition of the second ball mill.<\/p>\n\n\n

Abcourt said it plans to process between 600 and 800 tonnes per week initially, and gradually increase the weekly tonnage. It additionally plans to complete the processing of the 5,000-tonne bulk sample from the Pershing-Manitou deposit near the end of March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abcourt will then begin processing gold mineralized material from Sleeping Giant, it said, and in the coming months its mission will be to extract from the 4 upper levels of the underground mine to feed the mill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will also conduct definition and exploration drilling to prepare an updated mineral resources estimate and, ultimately, the project\u2019s economic pre-feasibility study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abcourt owns the 100%-owned Sleeping Giant mill and mine. Its assets include a pulp management facility, two shafts, adjoining drifts, a mechanical shop, offices, a store, drying rooms, mining equipment, surface facilities, a large parts inventory, four mining leases and 39 cells adjoining the mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
