United Coal Company (UCC) has donated Biomarine mine rescue equipment to Virginia Tech\u2019s Mine Engineering Department to help facilitate students\u2019 development into proficient mining engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe impact of this donation on the Virginia Tech Mine Engineering Department is expected to be profound, enhancing their ability to train and prepare for mine rescue operations,\u201d said UCC officials. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe equipment enables more students to engage in simulated mine rescue activities, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of emergency situations before entering the workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biomarine rescue equipment is renowned in the mining industry for its reliability and effectiveness. The equipment is Mine Safety and Health Administration approved, guaranteeing adherence to safety standards and are designed for use in mine emergency environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCC produces up to 3 million tons of coking coal annually at its operations in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
