marks a century of business"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On May 13, global equipment producer Komatsu marked 100 years of business, and to celebrate the company has unveiled a mission of purpose, values and brand promise as it continues to place its focus on partnerships and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-556\" src=\"http:\/\/northamericanmining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/komatsu100th.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company will hold a series of activities over the coming year to commit to its new brand promise of \u201ccreating value together\u201d \u2013 something it called a combination of a mission and a vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its founding in 1921 in Komatsu City, Japan, the OEM said it has been dedicated to its founding principles for a century: quality first, technology and manufacturing innovation, global reach and people development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThrough the years, Komatsu\u2019s continued investment in core capabilities and strategic acquisitions have connected smart, diverse people and cutting-edge technologies with a shared belief that partnerships are the best way to solve challenges and meet society\u2019s needs,\u201d the company added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its values of ambition, perseverance, collaboration and authenticity will be at the core of its future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn our next 100 years, Komatsu will focus on supporting the mining, construction, forestry, industrial machinery and agriculture industries in their transformations to the digital workplace of the future: equipment and people, connected through smart technologies on an open platform, driving towards zero harm, zero waste and zero emissions,\u201d Komatsu officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy helping to digitalize job sites worldwide, our customers can optimise on-site operations towards a carbon-neutral environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company will remain, it said, in an active role in supporting the local communities of its customers, with a specific emphasis on sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of that commitment, the OEM launched last year One World One Komatsu, an online platform for its employees that
