Greater support for copper mining and meeting growing demand were both behind Solvay\u2019s expansion of its Mount Pleasant, Tenn., facility, a project that has now been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project, first announced in December 2021, included a 20% boost in its line capacity for its ACORGA copper solvent extraction products. ACORGA, ACORGA NR and ACORGA OPT have all seen increasing demand from mining operations for applications including clean energy and e-mobility needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cThis milestone reaffirms Solvay\u2019s commitment to the mining industry. Even as oxide ore reserves are depleting, the market for copper solvent extractants is expected to remain strong, supported by new leaching technologies capable of treating sulfide ores,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
