Metso has signed an agreement to acquire privately owned Finnish engineer and manufacturer Ab A. H\u00e4ggblom Oy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
H\u00e4ggblom\u2019s service portfolio includes wear parts, truck body and bucket refurbishments, as well as related field services. H\u00e4ggblom has partnered with Metso for several years in the manufacturing of truck bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The acquisition will broaden Metso\u2019s offering in bodies and buckets by providing complete end-to-end loading and hauling solutions and strengthening the company\u2019s position in the aftermarket. The aim is to leverage H\u00e4ggblom\u2019s strong engineering and manufacturing expertise in collaboration with existing partners on a regional and global basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
No financial details for the transaction have been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLoading and hauling is a growing business, and our goal is to further develop our capability to serve our customers,\u201d said Heikki Mets\u00e4l\u00e4, president of Metso\u2019s Consumables Business area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cH\u00e4ggblom\u2019s product range, manufacturing know-how and engineering capabilities, as well as service expertise are a good addition to Metso\u2019s wear parts portfolio.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
H\u00e4ggblom CEO Jukka Karhula called the deal the beginning of an exciting new chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have successfully cooperated with Metso for many years, and we are now excited to become part of an international company. We are confident that our expertise and products will align well with Metso\u2019s loading and hauling offering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
