E3 Lithium said in a recent progress update report that it is advancing its preparation activities for its field pilot plant in Canada, including the receipt of its facility license last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said current on-site work is primarily regarding the installation and operation of the downhole equipment in preparation for brine production for the pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
E3 is planning a pre-pilot reservoir test to boost its understanding of the reservoir fluid characterization for future development work, and is grading and preparing the site in advance of the delivery of equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next stage for the project is piping and protective structure installation, which will be done over the coming 4-6 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lithium extraction process equipment and E3’s sorbent manufacturing both are continuing offsite; all is currently on track to arrive early in the third quarter. Installation and commissioning are projected to take about four weeks, after which full operations can commence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cE3 will share key performance indicators for the lithium extraction processes at the pilot plant prior to commissioning,\u201d it said. \u201cThe company remains committed to industry-leading environmental and safety standards and has practices, policies and procedures in place ensure the site operates safely throughout 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President and CEO Chris Doornbos noted the pilot project is on track and on budget for the Q3 start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
E3\u2019s plant was funded by Alberta Innovates, the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund and Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
