<\/p>\n\n\nCaterpillar Mining and ThoroughTec Simulation have jointly confirmed a new global cooperative agreement to help mines worldwide with their safety and sustainability efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Under the terms of the agreement, which was announced in February, Cat will bring the newest generation of simulator-based training systems to its customers by recommending ThoroughTec as their approved simulator supplier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cat, then, will offer ThoroughTec exclusive access to its confidential machines\u2019 technical data and engineering expertise to allow the group to strengthen its technological capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTogether, Caterpillar Mining and ThoroughTec Simulation are committed to helping Caterpillar customers effectively train operators in the most efficient, safe and realistic way possible,\u201d said the companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ThoroughTec said it has hundreds of simulator deployments worldwide and is mining\u2019s only ISO9001 simulator supplier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In December, Cat and Guardhat also announced a safety collaboration; both will offer safety technology via Cat dealers as well as team up on a new wearable technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The companies are developing the new system, called Cat Connected Worker, that incorporates wearables to boost individual protections. The digital solution also provides event-based monitoring and mapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bill Dears, who serves as Cat MineStar Solutions marketing manager, noted that, as a component of Cat MineStar Detect\u2019s safety capabilities, Connected Worker provide insight for safer operations and quicker response in the event of an emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are pleased to work with Caterpillar to deliver \u2018smart\u2019 technology to enhance miners\u2019 safety,\u201d added Indranil Roychoudhury, chief operating officer of Guardhat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the development is rolled out, Cat Connected Worker will provide precise locations for all workers to the mine monitoring system. It will also allow communication between individuals, teams and sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
