Cleantech group Clean Coal Technologies (CCTI), which has been working to advance its technology that converts run-of-mine coal into a cleaner-burning, efficient and stabilized fuel, has formalized its partnership with Energy Capital Economic Development (ECED) in Gillette, Wyo.<\/p>\n

\"\"Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), CCTI will get infrastructure support as needed in the further development of its technology from the Wyoming Innovation Center at Fort Union in Gillette.<\/p>\n

The ECED enables \u201clegislative, local and state economic development to provide strategies to encourage private sector development of companies\u201d that in turn boost the economy to offer benefit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Innovation Center is a very unique initiative and reflects the continued support by Wyoming in advancing the use of Wyoming PRB coal through technology,\u201d CCTI chief operating officer Aiden Neary noted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the arrival of our $1.3m rotary kiln at our site last month this partnership will provide our ability to supply processed coal feedstock to other businesses in the Industrial park and enable us to share infrastructure as we move toward being fully operational at our new facility.\u201d<\/p>\n

CCTI\u2019s end products, \u201cPristine\u201d coals, are significantly more efficient, less polluting, more cost-effective and provide more heat than untreated coal, the company noted. The clean coal technology may reduce as much as 90% of chemical pollutants from coal, including sulfur and mercury, and thus resolve emissions issues at coal-fired power plants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
