Cameco announced that its Cigar Lake uranium mine in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, has resumed production activities following a temporary suspension at Orano\u2019s McClean Lake mill, where Cigar Lake ore is processed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The McClean Lake mill shut down on June 29 due to an issue with an expansion joint in the sulfuric acid production unit. The mill restarted operations on July 11 following an intensive repair effort and around-the-clock collaboration. Cigar Lake has begun shipping stockpiled ore to the mill and has restarted production at the mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameco said the 2026 production outlook range for Cigar Lake has not been impacted by the temporary suspension of production and remains between 17.5 million and 18.0 million lb. of U3<\/sub>O8<\/sub> (100% basis).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cigar Lake is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine, and has produced a total of 174.5 million lb. of ore since its commissioning in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
