Canadian developer E3 Lithium announced the appointment of Tom Gear as chief operating officer, effective June 8. He brings nearly 30 years of deep operational expertise alongside a national leadership perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Gear comes to E3 Lithium from MEG Energy, where he served as senior vice president of Oilsands. Prior to MEG Energy, he spent 24 years at Suncor and legacy Petro-Canada, including serving as vice president, Environment, Health & Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter an extensive search, we are very pleased to welcome Tom to the executive team as chief operating officer,\u201d said E3 Lithium CEO and Chair Chris Doornbos. \u201cHis extensive experience leading large-scale industrial operations, driving organizational excellence, and developing high-performing teams will be invaluable as we move closer to construction and operations of the Clearwater project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Clearwater project, located between Red Deer and Calgary in Alberta, hosts a mineral reserve with 1.29 million tonnes of LHM (1.13 Mt lithium carbonate equivalent).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separately, the company announced the retirement of Chief Development Officer Kevin Carroll, effective June 12. E3 Lithium said Carroll will remain with the company in an advisory capacity during a transition period to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
