The U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration has published its preliminary findings from an April 30 incident that took the life of one miner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fatal accident occurred at the Portable Crusher #1 site in Wastington County, Idaho, a surface stone mine controlled by Jeanne M (Seubert) McDonough and Seubert Excavators, according to federal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim was identified as Devin Knight, 23, a laborer with one year of mining experience and just one month on the job at the site. The mine had eight total employees working at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSHA classified the death as Slip or Fall of Person. It was the 10th<\/sup> mining fatality of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A final report is pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
