Due to rising costs and global trade challenges, Volvo Construction Equipment<\/strong> said it will close its UK-based Rokbak articulated hauler business and concentrate resources on its portfolio of other hauling solutions. Production is expected to stop in the second half of 2026, subject to a consultation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For more than four decades, Rokbak \u2013 formerly Terex Trucks \u2013 has supplied reliable off-highway articulated haulers to customers worldwide. In 2014, the Volvo Group acquired the off-road product line and established a new division within Volvo CE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After seven years of investment, the Rokbak brand was launched in September 2021 with the RA30 and RA40 articulated haulers.<\/p>\n\n\n

Recently, however, rising operational and supply chain costs, combined with global trade challenges such as U.S. tariffs, have significantly weakened Rokbak\u2019s financial performance. As a result, continued operations have become unsustainable, according to Volvo CE officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is an incredibly difficult time for our entire company, our valued employees, and our loyal customers and partners,\u201d said Paul Douglas, managing director of Rokbak. \u201cWe are extremely grateful for all the support we\u2019ve received over the years. Our focus now is on ensuring a smooth transition, providing ongoing support to our fantastic team, customers and partners, and honoring our commitments.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volvo CE said dedicated support will be available, and Rokbak customers and dealers will continue to receive aftermarket services support throughout the transition and into the future. A core Rokbak team will remain in place to deliver aftermarket services, including parts, sales, technical support and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rokbak closure is expected to conclude by the third quarter of 2026. Volvo CE said it will work closely with unions, government representatives and regulatory bodies to ensure a responsible and supportive transition for employees impacted by this unfortunate decision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
