{"id":10721,"date":"2025-07-31T14:44:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T14:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northamericanmining.com\/?p=10721"},"modified":"2025-07-31T14:44:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T14:44:36","slug":"msha-reports-16th-fatality-of-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northamericanmining.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/31\/msha-reports-16th-fatality-of-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"MSHA reports 16th fatality of 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MSHA reported that on July 12, a delivery truck driver at Pueblo Plant &amp; Quarry, Pueblo Colo., died when the truck he was driving traveled off the road and crashed into a ravine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the 16th fatality reported in 2025, and the seventh classified as \u201cPowered Haulage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MSHA recommends the following best practices to avoid this type of accident:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain control of mobile equipment and follow all posted speed limit and warning signs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure berms and guardrails are at least as high as the mid-axle height of the largest mobile equipment using the roadway. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure braking systems can stop and hold the equipment with its typical load on the maximum grade it travels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always wear a seatbelt while operating mobile equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform thorough pre-operational inspections of mobile equipment.\u00a0 Correct any defects that create a hazard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MSHA reported that on July 12, a delivery truck driver at Pueblo Plant &amp; Quarry, Pueblo Colo., died when the truck he was driving traveled off the road and crashed into a ravine.
