The miner said the operation had become \u201csub-economic\u201d due to a weak diamond market.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision has led to the layoffs of hundreds of employees and contractors, as reported by <em>CBC News<\/em>.
