The Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG) recently released its \u201cIntroduction to Geometallurgy\u201d white paper, a foundational resource designed to introduce and support the implementation of geometallurgical principles in mining projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Geometallurgy, defined as an interdisciplinary practice for evaluating and optimizing mining operations focusing on the spatial characterization of ore and non-ore types within a deposit and considering their impact on processing, mining performance, and environmental sustainability, lends itself to this comprehensive white paper designed to familiarize practitioners with the discipline. It will also consolidate key geometallurgical elements into a single document, providing a roadmap for future GMG guidelines in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
