Flexco’s MINExpo launch: Flexco Elevate Belt Conveyor Intelligence

Conveyer technology group Flexco is putting a spotlight at MINExpo on its newest product, the Flexco Elevate Belt Conveyor Intelligence system.

A real-time belt cleaner monitoring system that harnesses the power of predictive analytics so mining operations can remotely gather critical insights that optimize belt conveyor productivity and heighten operational efficiencies, the new release will be on display with an interactive dashboard to show how the Elevate wireless platform can transfer data insights to an intuitive, cloud-based dashboard via edge technology that permits remote monitoring of belt cleaners.

Another product on display at booth C4209 is the Flexco XP Staple Fastening System, which combines an applicator tool with what the company said is the longest-wearing staple fastener and hinge pin on the market – which together produce a superior belt splice.

Flexco will unveil its Super-Screw Flexible Rubber Fastening System at the Las Vegas show as well. On offer as part of a strategic North American partnership with MLT Minet Lacing Technology, Super-Screw offers a faster and easier alternative to vulcanization since it can be installed regardless of the location or accessibility of the conveyor belt and in any weather condition.

Tackling extreme cleaning will be yet another new set of products for carryback control, including the MXS Extreme-Duty Secondary Cleaner, which is an ideal complement to its MXP Extreme-Duty Precleaner. The duo, the company said, acts as a total cleaning solution along the beltline in the most extreme mining applications.

“Handling belt speeds up to 2000 fpm (10 m/s) and belt widths from 42 to 120 inches (1050 to 3000 mm), the rugged, oversized mainframes can withstand extreme pressures, while the built-in lift points and modular design make it easier to carry and install,” officials said.

The unique design of the blades on the new MXD Diagonal and MXV V-Plows will also draw a crowd to the Flexco booth. The plows provide all the strength needed for belts with large tonnages.

“[Also] at this year’s booth, we will introduce our new TUG HD Belt Clamps, which are designed to secure the belt for repair, meeting the most stringent safety test standards,” Flexco said of its plans. “Available in 6- and 8-ton versions, TUG HD Belt Clamps provide even tensioning across the entire belt width for ultimate strength. Modular components allow for increased versatility and portability.”

New to this year’s show is also the Powered FSK Belt Skiver, a powered version of a manual skiver. The FSK is compact and easy to use anywhere on the job site, with a blade that is safely enclosed during skiving operations. Used on rubber-covered belts with top covers of 3/16 in. (4.5 mm) or more, the FSK Skiver provides skives from 1/16 to 3/8 in. (1.5 to 9.5 mm) deep in a single pass.
