National Group’s Wolff Mining recently brought its semi-autonomous tractor system (SATS) into production in the field for an unnamed operation.
Wolff partnered with Caterpillar and Hastings Deering for implementation and optimization phases. The fleet included four semi-autonomous Cat D11T bulldozers with Cat Command software and SATS technology, remotely controlled.
SATS technology can control up to four dozers by one operator at a time, and promises to eliminate worker exposure levels for noise, vibration and dust.
